Operations manager

Born in Nelson, I recently returned home with my family. I joined Nelson Technical Institute in 2002 and continued to work remotely while I lived in Waipu. I am now the Operations Manager and enjoy the challenges the role brings, the people and seeing the trainees self confidence grow as they succeed.

CRT Tutor

Being born and bred in Nelson and having worked and lived my life in Nelson I have met a lot of interesting people associated within the forestry, sawmilling and transport industries all throughout the South Island. This has been of great benefit to me in my role as the Commercial Road Transport tutor for NTI.

Licencing Assessor

Having spent 21 years as a mechanic for the Army I left the army and drove tour coaches all over NZ where I got involved with driver training. I found the training side satisfying so pursued it and qualified as a heavy vehicle driving instructor and an accredited assessor. I worked for a driver training company in Auckland for 5 years then came to Nelson for a more relaxed lifestyle. Working at NTI gives me the satisfaction of training without the pressure of a big city.

Office / Finance Administrator

I was born in Nelson and have spent every day since in sunny Nelson. As administrator, I enjoy working the front desk at NTI. I look upon every day as a new challenge that needs to be tackled head on. Meeting with people from the wider Nelson community is a wonderful aspect of the job, and seeing the trainee on completion of their training and knowing that they have achieved their goals is very rewarding.

Electrical Engineering Tutor

I really enjoy living on the edge of sunny Tasman Bay with my wonderful wife and our little family. Nelson Technical Institute gives me the opportunity to mix my passion for both education and the electrical industry. I am an experienced registered educator with an active interest in educational psychology. I am a registered linemechanic and I believe this background in the electricity supply industry brings diversity to a course that is primarly electrotechnology industry based.
